Dollish Polish: I'm a Material Girl

I was lucky enough to have my first indie polish purchase be from Dollish Polish.  Dolly creates unique, highly desired polishes and sells out very quickly when she does open shop.

One of the beauties I scored was "I'm a Material Girl" -- a collection of black, pink, and white matte hexagon glitters of varying sizes suspended in a clear base.

All the glitters in their glory:

Below shows two thick coats of I'm A Material Girl with one coat of Gelous as a topcoat.  Photos were taken in direct sunlight.

While you could definitely use this as a layering polish, I chose to let Material Girl fly solo on my nails.

I love the depth of this polish.

Material Girl didn't require much shaking to get a good selection of glitters.  Instead of painting the polish on my nails, I laid the brush (loaded with polish) on top of my nail bed and carefully spread it out.

Application was fairly easy.  You definitely need to wait until the polish sets before applying another coat; impatience isn't rewarded and you will just end up with a clumpy mess.

I was very fortunate to have my first indie polish purchase be such a success.  Dolly's polishes are mini pieces of art in a bottle and I can't wait to add more of them to my collection!

Dollish Polishes are available here.  You can also check out her Facebook page or Twitter.

    1. It's a really unique polish that I highly recommend! One of those "I can't stop staring at my nails" situations. :)
