Blue Mondays with Model City Polish: Birds of a Feather

Another Blue Monday! Today, I have another blue beauty for you. It's Model City Polish Birds of a Feather. Birds of a Feather is a blue-based, shimmery lacquer with blue holo hexes disbursed throughout.

Model City Polish is a fairly new independent line of polishes that can currently be found on Etsy. The creator, Nina, is so charming and friendly. We exchanged messages before I received some of her lacquers and I felt like we could chat about anything afterward, just to give you an idea of the customer service you can expect from her.

And here are three coats of Birds of a Feather, no undies:
So blue. So shimmery. So filled with holos.

All photos were taken in artificial light, no flash (I was traveling and had to make the best of a situation. The lighting actually was really great for these swatches and I was able to accurately portray the color).

Here is another shot of Birds of a Feather:

And I also wanted to see how Birds of a Feather would look as a layering polish, so I applied two coats of Maybelline Color Show Sapphire Siren . . .

And here are the results. A winning combination for sure.
You get more of the shimmer in Birds of a Feather when used as a layering polish, as you can see in the photo above.

Overall, I really enjoyed Birds of a Feather. There was just the right amount of glitter in it and the subtle shimmer in the jelly base gave it that extra special something. It was a touch thick, but not enough to bother me.

To purchase Birds of a Feather or any of Nina's other amazing lacquers, please visit the Model City Polish Etsy shop.
